Samahang Pilipino Advancing Community Empowerment (SPACE) is a student-run and student-initiated project that aims to ensure Pilipino and Pilipino-American students in underserved, low-income communities have the resources they need to apply and succeed at universities like UCLA. Our mission is to increase access to higher education for Pilipinx students through culturally grounded peer advising, tutoring, mentorship, and community engagement. Going beyond the programming of a mentoring organization, SPACE believes that education is a pathway toward self-realization, critical consciousness, and collective community empowerment.
